Experience

120 hour Advanced TEFL certificate 30 Hour courses in: Teaching Young Learners Business English IELTS TOEIC Languages spoken: English C2 (mother tongue) Danish B2 German B1/B2 French B1 Spanish A2 Swahili A1 Esperanto A1 I'm relatively new to teaching English professionally, but I have a good knowledge of teaching techniques having spent a lot of time teaching circus skills to all age ranges. I am highly interested in linguistics and languages in general and am very enthusiastic and committed when teaching. I'd really love to be able to show my passion to others, and hopefully inspire the same interest in them! I know how important a good teacher is, it really can make or break a subject for people and so I really try to connect with my students. This is why I really want to teach, and to be a good teacher that not only teaches the subject, but makes the pupil want to learn it! I try to find things the pupils enjoy, and use that as a base on which to build the language as well as songs, games and popular culture.

Hobbies

I guess you could describe most of my interests as pretty alternative or nerdy, but I have plenty of friends who join me so I can't be the only one! I probably spend most of my time with circus arts, I'm a pretty proficient at juggling as well as diabolo, poi, flowersticks and at a more basic level with staff, contact juggling and I'm starting to learn the unicycle too! I've been to a number of circus festivals and used to run a circus club at university where we did a whole variety of different shows (even fire breathing!). I also really like music - I've been part of a number of choirs and have recently taken some courses in guitar and piano. I enjoy travelling a lot - I've lived in four countries (UK (England and Scotland), Denmark, Kenya and now Germany) - and I love exploring cultures and finding out how the world works! This is almost certainly related to my love of language, language really shows a different insight into culture and there's nothing better than being able to converse with people in their mother tongues. Other than this I have a few smaller hobbies like rock-climbing, hiking and playing board-games!
